When you have no price forecast or budget.
When you don't know of any capable suppliers.
When no purchase has been approved.
When there is no advantage in obtaining competitive bids.
Where any cost saving would be insignificant.
None are favorable.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) will be hosting a data users conference in downtown Chicago on Wednesday, May 13, 2015. This is a free event. BLS program specialists will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to discuss their programs with data users. BLS program overview sessions will also be conducted. There are a number of sessions that may be of interest to the Society’s members — specifically the one that covers the Producer Price Index and Import Export Price Indexes. The BLS Associate Commissioner for Prices and Living Conditions will be conducting a presentation on both of the data series. For more information and to register, go to
