Purchasing Management and Strategic Sourcing
Anyone taking this course should gain an in depth appreciation of the wide scope of good purchasing management. This purchasing management and strategic sourcing course discusses the issues that determine proper purchasing management and explains how strategic sourcing is essentially about those issues. Planning sourcing by the use of teams, collecting and analyzing data are steps in the strategic sourcing activity. Topics include how the number of suppliers should be determined and when and when not to use split sourcing. The importance of proper specifications, clear requisition and buying authority, and the importance of appropriate inventory and supplier held inventory are discussed. Other topics include organization structure, security measures, budgeting, logistics, carrier selection, measuring costs, price analysis, value analysis, and supplier partnerships. The purchasing management and strategic sourcing course includes an excellent glossary and list of sources for those who wish to learn greater detail.
The self-running online purchasing agent courses are attended via the Internet. They require up to two or three continuous hours of attendance. Students are initially contacted by email with instructions on how to take the course for which they have registered. Students may attend the course at any time during the day. This makes these professional business training seminars more convenient for students. All materials are included in the price of the course and will be available online while attending classes. These purchasing agent courses are nonrefundable. Instructions for these courses are usually sent within a few days of registration. Normally, the Society likes to see this type of training for procurement professionals completed within a month of having sent out the instructions. If too much time elapses without a procurement training seminar being completed the student may have to register for it again.
It is each student's responsibility to contact the Society if instructions are not received within the time frames listed above. Failure to do so may result in additional fees. Students can contact the Society at 630-859-0250 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
